- A retired chemical engineer for American Hoechst (formerly Foster Grant),was 80 and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge. Buff, as he was known to his friends.
He proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army.
Survived by his wife of 56 years, Helen B. Bufkin; daughter, Betsy Morganti and husband John of Metairie; sons, Steve Bufkin and wife Kathy of Dallas and Bob Bufkin and wife Jill of Colorado Springs; and three grandchildren, Brooke, Katie and Emily Bufkin.
Preceded in death by his parents, Porter and Wynema Bufkin.
He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, past president of the Metropolitan Club, a friend of the LSU Library and an elder at Broadmoor Presbyterian Church.
