- GODIN, NORBERT JOSEPH - 1931 - 2014 -
Norbert Joseph Godin, 82, of Hillsborough and formerly of Moncton passed away peacefully on November 1st, 2014 at the Dr. Georges-L-Dumont Hospital, Moncton with his loving family by his side. Norbert was born in Petit Rocher on December 7, 1931, the son of the late Ambroise and Geneviève (Roy) Godin. He worked as Forman for Atlantic Sleep Products in Scoudouc before his retirement. He was of the Catholic Faith. He was a 3rd degree Knights of Columbus. Norbert enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, playing cards and above all things, the times spent at the Camp in the Mirimachi. He loved his family very much, his grandchildren were definitely his pride and joy and they all had a very special place in his heart. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor always having a joke or story to tell. "What we keep in memory is ours forever." He will be deeply missed by his loving and devoted wife, Simonne (Bujold) Godin of Hillsborough; daughters, Linda Cote (Raymond) of Hillsborough, Lilianne Wright (Doug) of Moncton and Louise Nelson (Melvin) of Hillsborough; sons, Laurent Godin (Antoinette) of Moncton and Leonard Godin (Julie) of Prince George, BC; his treasured grandchildren, Nicole, Patrick, Mathieu, Blair and Josée; two great-grandchildren, Kate and Xavier; sisters, Theresa and Rolande of Ontario, Germaine of Quebec and Gilberte of Saint John; sister-in-law, Fernande of Petit Roche. He will also be missed by all his extended family, the Bujolds and by many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 5th, 2014 at 3:00pm with Father Phil Mulligan officiating. The family will be meeting with relatives and friends prior to the service from 2:00pm until 3:00pm. Following the service there will be a time for further sharing of memories and for refreshments at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe, NB.
