- ANCESTOR OF ALL THE DOUCETS IN BATHURST and SURROUNDING AREAS.
Charles "dit Charlitte" was the leader of the Acadian Colony that settled in Nepisiquit (Now Bathurst) following the end of Acadian exile around 1782, they came from Miscou Island, N. B. He was described as an old man... named Charlitte Doucet, who had four sons (Pierre "dit Pierrot" Doucet, Michel Doucet, Joseph Siffroi "dit Habitant" Doucet and Charles Doucet (Sr).
BORN: He was born Abt. 1722 in Beaubassin, Cumberland, Nova Scotia (see notes below).
SON OF: Francois Doucet (1692-1763) and Marie Anne Poirier (1694-1762)
MARRIED: 10 Jan 1746 in Beaubassin, (Acadia), Nova Scotia.

GRAVE INFO:
age ~90 years (Probably a guess by missionary/relatives) His birth year is most likely Abt. 1722, Charles Doucet "dit Charlitte" died in Nipisiquit (Bathurst) on 14 Sept 1798, aged around 76. However, the missionary recorded that he was "90 years old", or about 14 years older than his true age. Which would be before his parents married. So probably a guess by the missionary/relatives.
