- Louis Prudent LOUIS P. Blais-Blair (19 Jan 1851-9 Mar 1934) was born in St-Louis-de-Lotbiniere, Quebec, Canada. He was the son of Prudent Joseph Blais-Blair (1825 –1916) and Odelie Marie Bergeron (1827-bef 1900) of St-Louis-de-Lotbiniere.
Louis P. and his parents and siblings moved to the Chippewa Falls area of Wisconsin, USA in 1865, along with other family and friends from the Lotbiniere area.
On 10 Jan 1871, Louis P. wed Matilda Beulah Simon (26 Oct 1855–28 Jul 1928) in Chippewa Falls. She was born in Troy, Rensselaer, New York, the daughter of German immigrants who emigrated in July 1852 to the USA from near Fulda, Hesse-Kassel, Germany, Otto Joseph Simon (19 Apr 1833-7 Dec 1908) and Maria Barbara Kriker (11 Jan 1828-20 Oct 1903).
Louis P. farmed in Eagle Point, Chippewa County (not far from Chippewa Falls). In the winter, he worked in the lumber mills.
In 1897, Louis P. and Matilda and daughters Matilda, Mary, Angeline and Adelle moved to Red Lake (Thief River Falls), Minnesota.
In the Spring of 1906 Louis and Matilda moved to Canada and took a homestead near Leask, Saskatchewan, Canada (around Kilwinning) on NW, Section 32, Township 46, Range 5, Meridian W3.
All in all, they had ten daughters and one son: Alphonsina (1872-1948); Mary Eleanor Elmira LENORA (1874-1905); Clara (1876-1949); Harvey Louis (1877-1963); Emily (1882-1978); Mary Odelia (1886-1975); Angeline (1888-1973); Adele (1891-1962); Anna (1893-1979); Edme (1896-1985) - all born in Tilden or the Chippewa Falls area; and Loretta (1900-1994), born in Thief River Falls.
Louis P. died on 9 Mar 1934 and is buried in a cemetery in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada - most likely Prince Albert Memorial Gardens.
