He occupied a tract of land with six arpents frontage. He also owned four hogs and one musket. The January 23, 1770, muster roll of Louis Judice's Militia Company, Cabannocé District, Acadian Coast, indicates that he was a fusilier, that his residence was located "above" Bayou Lafourche, and that he was a seventeen-year-old bachelor
