- Jerry Bujold It is with profound sadness that the family of Jerry Bujold announces his passing after a lengthy battle with cancer, Jerry, age 55, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 3, 2016, with his family at his side. Jerry was born to Jackie and Fred Bujold (deceased) in Elliot Lake. After completing his education, Jerry settled in Elliot Lake and became a local business owner. He also worked for Denison Mines and eventually became a Financial Planner and Representative for Investors Group. Jerry was very active in the local community. He volunteered with several organizations including Elliot Lake Major Hockey, the Men's Crisis Center, the Elliot Lake Public Library Board, and Sheriff Lake Equestrian Center, among others. Jerry will always be remembered for his kindness and thoughtfulness. He was always willing to extend a helping hand. A truly ethical man, Jerry helped many through difficult times (often over a coffee at McDonald's) despite his own challenges. Jerry maintained a positive outlook throughout his battle with cancer, and he continued to travel with Arlene until mere days before his passing. A true Elliot Laker, Jerry loved spending summers at "the lake" with his family and friends. Many will remember his evenings spent around the campfire. In the winters, Jerry enjoyed local hockey games where he could visit with friends. The very last hockey game that Jerry watched from the bleachers was one in which his son played. Jerry will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Arlene, and his children, Sarah (Travis) and André (Tracey). Also left in mourning are his five sisters, Lana (Stan) Humphries, Shiela (Roland) Dubois, Beth (Charles) Harrison, Valerie (Gerry) Heroux, and Candy (Steve) Rossetto, and his brother, Brad (Glenda). Jerry also leaves behind a large extended family and a multitude of friends, near and far. Finally, of course, Stanley (his cat). A funeral service will be held at Holy Trinity United Church on Hillside Drive, Elliot Lake, at 11:00 am on Friday, April 8, 2016. A short time of visitation will precede the funeral from 10:00 am to 10:45 am. In lieu of flowers, Jerry requested donations be directed to St. Joseph's General Hospital Chemotherapy Unit or St. Joseph's General Hospital Palliative Care Program
