- BUJOLD, Alfred ("Papa" Fred) of Elliot Lake passed away peacefully on January 19th at St. Joseph's Manor with his family at his side.
He was born in St-Jules, Quebec in 1928, married Velda (Jackie) Gilker 63 years ago.
They were blessed with seven children who are also left to mourn. They are Lana (Stan Humphries), Shiela (Roland Dubois), Beth (Chuck Harrison), Valerie (Gerry Heroux), Brad (Glenda), Jerry (Arlene), Candy (Stephen Rossetto). He also leaves behind many grandchildren: Jerri-Lee, Dawn, Debbie, Jason, Christine, Ricky, Bobby, Rhonda, Richard, Felicia, Nathan, Georgina, Sarah, Andre, Holly and Jack, along with several great-grandchildren.
Fred was predeceased by his parents Emily and Ervin and his 10 siblings. Most of his working life was spent at Denison Mines, where he worked as an area foreman. He was an avid fisherman, usually accompanied by his dog "Buddy" whom he cared for deeply during his retirement years.
A memorial in Fred's honor will be held later in the spring. The family is requesting that any donations be made to the Alzheimer's Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation or St. Joseph's Manor.
