| In August 1850, the federal census taker in West Baton Rouge Parish counted 2 slaves--a 50-year-old black female and an 11-year-old black female--on Manet Bujol's farm; this probably was Joseph III's widow, Manette Picou. Evidently Manette returned to the Bayou Lafourche valley in the 1850s. |
