- Michelle Paula Haas Bugeaud
Michelle Paula Bugeaud (née Hass) passed away peacefully at the age of 52 the morning of January 17, 2022, holding hands with her husband, more than 2 years after being diagnosed with breast cancer.
Michelle was the proud mother of James and Matthew and was always ready to do whatever was needed to help them be who they wanted to be. Even as she was preparing to go, her main concern was her boys. Her eyes lit up every time she spoke of them, and that could help her through tough times. Michelle was the loving wife of Doug for 26 years.
She was a brilliant light, touching many lives as a pharmacy technician and a volunteer in many areas as she passed through this world, as well as the many friends she made through her love of knitting. She will be sorely missed by many, but she asked that we not grieve for her passing but instead that we celebrate that she was here and that she had such a wonderful influence in this world. She shared light, love, and a zest for the world that we should all emulate.
The family would like to thank all the people who helped us through this journey, but especially Dr Lindenberg and Nurse Jolanta Kowalski of the Fort Belvoir Community Hospital Oncology Department, the staff of Walter Reed Oncology, the wonderful nurses at the Winchester Hospital cancer treatment centre, and Dr Zakhem, who generously provided advice and assistance.
For those wishing to attend the visitation and the Celebration of Life service on Saturday, January 22, please visit www.capitalmemorial.ca to register your attendance. Please note that attendance will be strictly limited to those that have pre-registered. All pandemic protocols are being observed and followed, and it is asked that you refrain from physical expressions of sympathy (handshakes; hugging; kissing).
