- André James Bujold
10 may 1989 -1 December 2023
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden death of André at the age of 34 at St. Joseph's General Hospital in Elliot Lake.
Born and raised in Elliot Lake, André chose to build a life in his hometown, where he was surrounded by friends and a large extended family. He had a wonderful sense of humour, was endlessly curious, and was always in motion. As a child, he loved dinosaurs and space exploration; he also enjoyed playing guitar, playing hockey, camping, skateboarding, snowboarding, and fishing. Despite the challenges he faced growing up as a busy child, André always had a kind heart.
As an adult, André became an avid fisherman and a talented carpenter. He could often be found in deep conversation with others, and he loved to debate. André's canine companion, Gordie, was usually near his side. André followed in his grandfather's footsteps by working for several years as an underground miner; he later started his own business, and he always took pride in the projects he completed.
André's last few years were difficult and often unsettled; he will nevertheless be missed by an extensive network of friends and family who loved him. He will forever be remembered for his generosity, loyalty, and helping nature.
Predeceased by his father Jerry, André is survived by his mother Arlene, and his sister Sarah. André also leaves behind a large extended family and many friends. He had some very special friends whom he loved and depended on during his final time on earth.
If you wish to make a charitable donation, please consider Larry's Place (men's shelter), the Canadian Mental Health Association, or a charity of your choice. There may be a celebration of Andre's life at a future date.
