Clarence was born June 15, 1930 in Fort Frances. He lived almost all of his life on the family farm in Miscampbell, Ont.
As a young man, Clarence worked as a logger in Rainy River District. He and Gertrude were married in 1954.
At the age of 27, he studied in Winnipeg to secure his mechanic’s qualifications. He then worked as a mechanic for DeGagne Equipment for several years before moving to the local paper mill, where he worked until his retirement in 1993.
Upon retiring from the paper mill, Clarence continued to operate his Hereford farm in Miscampbell with his son, Louis.
He always took great pride in all of his work, and his love for the land and farming was always evident in his life.
Clarence always was grateful for his many blessings. His faith was important to him and he led by quiet example. Clarence instilled this faith in his children.
He was a devout member of St. Mary’s Church for his entire life.
Clarence will be remembered for many good qualities. His love of music, his wit, his generous spirit, and his love for his family and friends will remain in our hearts forever.
A prayer service, with visitation, will be held Monday, Jan. 29, 2007 from 7-9 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Fort Frances. Fr. Paul Vazhapilly and Fr. Paul Moonjely will preside.
A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church. Fr. Paul Vazhapilly will officiate.
