David G. Bujol, on Friday, June 1, 2018. Born on July 20th, 1960 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Son of the late Linden L. Bujol, Jr. and Carol Burdett Bujol.
Survived by his loving wife Lisa of 33 years. They were married in New Orleans on May 18, 1985.
Dave is lovingly remembered by his wife Lisa; son Nicolas; daughter Casey and Grandson Theodore; brothers Stephen (Renee), Michael (Dawn), Allen (Therese), Warren (Alisa); sister Lynelle (Darin) Crowell; Mother-in-law Sara Rose; Brothers-in-law Chris (Dana) Rose, Stephen (Roxanne) Rose, Scott Rose, Dante (Erin) Rose, and Diego (Angela) Rose, and loving nieces and nephews.
David attended St. Catherine of Siena Grammar School and was a member of Boy Scout Troop 230. He graduated from Archbishop Rummel High School where he served as a basketball manager for his high school team. After which, David began his career in 1980 with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office where he was awarded numerous awards for his service advancing his career to the rank of Major, serving as the Commander of the Street Crimes Unit retiring in 2001.
David was very passionate in working with the Sunshine Kids and helping children with cancer.
Dave and his family relocated to Louisville, Kentucky where he continued working law enforcement in the private sector at Texas Roadhouse and California Pizza Kitchen.
David was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #12 and served on the Louisville Metro Police Award Committee.
Dave's selflessness and passion for helping people continues on with him being an organ and tissue donor.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Kentucky Wounded Heroes, Inc. or Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates (KODA).
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to celebrate the life of David and attend a memorial service at St. Catherine of Siena Church on Monday, June 18th, 2018. The family invites guest to attend visitation beginning at 10:00 am. The memorial service will begin at 12:00 pm. Reception to follow at Melancon Center.
