She was 87. Arrangements entrusted to Charlet Funeral Home Inc. in Zachary. Visiting at Plains Presbyterian Church until religious service, conducted by the Rev. Richard Bailey and the Rev. Woody Markert. Burial in Young Family Cemetery, Zachary. She lived in Sunny Glade Plantation in Lindsay for more than 55 years. Visiting at Charlet Funeral Home Inc. in Zachary on Friday, May 11, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting at Plains Presbyterian Church on Saturday, May 12, from 10 a.m. until religious service at noon, conducted by the Rev. Richard Bailey and the Rev. Woody Markert. Burial in Young Family Cemetery, Zachary. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Rachel McKowen and Robert P. White, Lindsay; son and daughter-in-law, John Keller Jr. and Roberta D. McKowen, Lindsay; brother and sister-in-law, Robert Joseph and Helen Bujol, Baton Rouge; three grandchildren, Agnes Geneva McKowen, John Keller McKowen III and Thomas Garrett White. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, John Keller McKowen; parents, Julius L. and Ora B. Bujol; brother, Earl Laurence Bujol; and a sister-in-law, Nenie East Bujol. Pallbearers will be John Keller McKowen III, Thomas Garrett White, Greg McKowen, Kim McKowen, Doug McKowen, David Bujol, Dudley Bujol and Spec Slaughter. She was a member of Plains Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. She was a graduate of LSU. She held state and national offices in the DAR and Magna Carta Dames. Her hobby was genealogy and she was a charter member of the Portfolio Book Club. She was a teacher in Covington, Springfield and Zachary.   Notes	Julius was the son of Provost & Othella Dupuy Bujol. He was born and raised in Louisiana and spent almost all his life in that state. In 1908 he married Ora Anderson. In 1917 he was a railroad rate clerk and of medium height with a slender build; he had gray eyes and dark hair. He worked as a shipyard paymaster, hospital business manager, and a special investigator at the state capital. Julius and Ora had three children (Ora, Robert, and Earl), all of whom are deceased as of 2011. Julius died before his wife at age 57.
