Recensement |
Aout 1850 |
West Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, USA |
In August 1850, the federal census taker in West Baton Rouge Parish counted 2 slaves--a 50-year-old black female and an 11-year-old black female--on Manet Bujol's farm; this probably was Joseph III's widow, Manette Picou. Evidently Manette returned to the Bayou Lafourche valley in the 1850s. |

In June 1860, the federal census taker in Lafourche Parish counted 2 slaves--an 80-year-old black female and a 47-year-old black female--on Mrs. Manette Bujol's farm in the parish's Seventh Ward; this probably was Manette Picou, who would have been close to 80 years old herself. |
