He was a 1946 graduate of Metairie High School where he received the American Legion School Award. A veteran of the United States Naval Reserve. He was an active parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Church and involved with Boy Scout Troop 230. He was also a former president of the St. Catherine Men’s Club. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at St. Catherine of Siena Church on Saturday, August 30, 2008 at 11am. Visitation begins at 10am. She worked as the manager of the Sporting Goods Department for Gibson’s in Port Arthur for 15 years. Sherry was affiliated with St. Therese, the Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Simon, her brothers, Simon Herman Bijeaux and Billy Bijeaux and her husband Steve McKnight. She is survived by her daughter, Shelly McKnight of Port Arthur, her mother, Jean Bijeaux of Port Arthur, her sister, Michelle Davis and her husband, Steve, her brother, James Johnny Bijeaux and his wife, Denise, numerous nieces and nephews,great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 from 10 AM till Noon at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves with a rosary to be prayed at Noon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM Wednesday, July 29 at St. Therese, Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church with Rev. Rejimon George serving as celebrant.
